Oasis Poker Pro

NetEnt provide many a table game, although some of them aren’t so easy to understand just from reading the title. Oasis Poker, for example, is one of them, and you don’t really get an idea of what it’s all about just by reading what it’s called. However, Oasis Poker is considered a variation of Caribbean Stud Poker, with the rules of such being exactly the same just about. However, the only major difference is that players are able to exchange cards before the raise or fold decision is made – although this kind of move does cost you as well. It’s quite a popular game in Eastern European and Northern African land-based casinos, and has started making waves in the online casino world in more recent years. The game itself is played against the house, so you won’t be competing against anyone else other than the dealer, and overall, it can provide quite an entertaining product on the whole.

How It All Looks

You’ll find that the Oasis Poker Professional Series game looks much like all the other NetEnt table products upon first loading it up. There’s the green felt table, which is surrounded by the dark wooden edge, and it’s upon this table that everything else is placed. Across the top of the table, you’ll see the card shuffler, the dealer’s box of chips, and the maximum and minimum wager levels, which in this game stands at €40 and €1, respectively. Finally, at the bottom of the table, you’re able to see both the ‘Ante’ and ‘Call’ circles, which will come in to play when you start the game, as well as the smaller circle featuring the words, ‘Draw’ and ‘Cost’.

As far as wagering on this game goes, you’ll be able to view the three different chip value in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. These stand at €1, €5 and €10, although these can be stacked up to enable you to reach anywhere up to the maximum €40 bet. There is also a grey chip with a red ‘x’ on it, which will cancel off your currently placed wager. While it may be handy to have at least some basic knowledge of poker hands, it’s not altogether so necessary as the game will be able to tell you what kind of a hand you have after the dealing is done with.

How to Play Oasis Poker Pro Series

It’s easy enough to begin playing the game. You first need to place a wager, which as we mentioned before, can be anywhere between €1 and €40 per hand. This is placed in the ‘Ante’ circle, and when you’re satisfied with such, you need to press the green ‘Deal’ button. This will then deal you out five cards face up, while the dealer will also receive five cards – one of them face up and the remaining four, face down. You’ll be informed upon what kind of hand you currently have by the game, whether it be a ‘High Card’ or a ‘Flush’, for example. It’s then up to you to decide whether you want to exchange any of your cards.

You’ll need to consider two things when deciding upon changing cards. The first is whether or not you think you will be able to form a better overall hand with newer cards in place of some of the current ones, and the second is what kind of hand you believe the dealer will have, which can only be judged from the single face up card. Choosing to fold will see all of your wager be lost. If you choose to exchange any cards, you simply need to click on the relevant ones. Once you’ve done this, you’ll see the cost for changing them appear in the ‘Draw/Cost’ circle, and if you’re happy to proceed with the exchange, you need to hit the ‘Draw’ button. This will then change the selected card(s) for new ones to try and form a better hand. Again, you will get the chance to fold if you like, or you can ‘Call’ to see the dealer’s hand and compare.

The dealer will only qualify for the comparison round if he has an Ace plus a King or higher in his hand. If he does not qualify, you win the round. If he does, your hands are compared. If the dealer’s hand is better than yours, you lose your wager placed. If you both have the same type of hand, a push outcome is achieved. However, if your hand is better, you win the round and a pay out which is relevant to such a hand. The highest pay out comes from being dealt a ‘Royal Flush’, which will see you on the receiving end of a pay out of 100:1, while a ‘Straight Flush’ gives a 50:1 pay out.

To Summarise

This may seem like a difficult game upon first loading it up, especially if you haven’t played poker in any form before. However, after playing a few hands, you’ll soon have the hang of it, and it’s really quite simple in the end. A great design from NetEnt is always helpful, and this certainly fits into such a category.
