Baccarat Professional Series

As far as casino table games go, Baccarat is one of three of the most popular ones alongside blackjack and roulette. There are three variants of the game, which are known as Punto Banco, Baccarat Chemin de Fer and Baccarat Banque. On the whole, it’s basically a card comparing game, and it’s been around since first coming to light in 19th-century France. Baccarat has three possible outcomes, which exist in the form of ‘Player’, ‘Banker’ and ‘Tie’, and you’ll always play against the dealer in this Netent Professional Series version. And not only that, but when playing this version, you’ll be presented with high quality graphics that are synonymous with this developer’s games, while a classy sounding piece of music accompanies your overall game play. However, this can be muted, should you feel the need to play in total silence.

The Visual Appeal

So, if you think this version of Baccarat sounds like something you’d like to play, then go right ahead and load up the game. This will offer up the regular green felt table, with the game’s standard logo displayed in the centre. The cards to be dealt are in the top right hand side of the screen, while the minimum and maximum wager levels are shown in the top left. In the centre at the top is the set of chips, while your betting area is presented below this in the sections ‘Tie’, ‘Banker’ and ‘Player’. This is the overall general layout of the game, and the cards will be dealt out into the sections marked for both yourself and for the banker.

Then, you have the various different customisation options, and you can see from the game’s added sign that there is a minimum wager available in this game of €1 and a maximum possibility of €100 per round. There are several chips available to utilise from the bottom right hand side of the game in order to create your bet, and these have values which start from €1 and rise right up to €50. There’s also the addition of a grey chip with a red ‘x’ on it, and you can use this to cancel off any wagers you have already placed. The only other customisation options exists in the ability to turn the sounds on or off, and the ability to adjust the speed of the game.

How to Play and the Winnings

If you have chosen the type of wager that you’d like to place, then you simply need to decide upon which way you believe the game will go. If you think the cards dealt will lead to a victory for the dealer, then place your bets in that section. Likewise, you can bet on the cards being a winning hand for the banker or for the result to be a tie. Following on from this, you need to press on the ‘Deal’ button and this will see two cards dealt out to the ‘Player’ section at the top and two to the ‘Banker’ section. These cards will then be compared against one another in total. If the player or the banker has eight or nine in total, this is known as a ‘natural’ and this becomes the winning hand. If neither has this value, third cards are dealt in the following way:

  • If the player has between 0 and 5, a third card is dealt. If player has six or seven, the hand stays the same.
  • If the player stands, banker draws a third card if their hand is between 0 and 5. If the player draws a third card, the value of that card will determine upon whether or not the banker gets to receive a third as well.

In the game, number cards count as face value, aces count as one, and 10s through to Kings count as 0. If the total value is 10 or more, 10 is subtracted, with the value remaining being your hand total.

The pay outs that this game offers up can be seen by hovering your mouse over the sign stating the wagering limits on it. Here, you’ll be able to see that if you wagered in the direction of a tie, this result would give you a 9 for 1 pay out, while a correct guess of the game going in the banker or player’s favour would give you a 2 for 1 pay out. A 5% commission is also deducted from all banker winning rounds.

It’s a simple comparison game, and when offered up in such a visually pleasing setting as this version from Netent is, it makes everything exceptionally better.
